I am a little late with this post. As I mentioned in my previous post, this one will be regarding our weaknesses! WE ALL HAVE THEM! Whether it’s chocolate or pornography a weakness is a weakness! The devil knows where/how/when to get us and he does it so well. Not only do we allow for him to get us but we also allow him to convince us  that it’s no BIG DEAL! Well it is! In fact, It’s a huge deal. The bible tells us sin is lawlessness (1 John 3:4) and the wages of sin is death. So yes, I would would say its an epic deal. I have had countless friends tell me in the past, “It just…..” or “The Lord knows my heart, he knows how much I struggle with this, he understands,” last my favorite one, “C’mon everyone does this.” Yes! The Lord does know your heart! It’s SINFUL. People almost always use these lines as forms of excuse or justification. Well its sick! We all need to STOP making excuses but place complete trust that he can remove our weakness and replace it with strength.The following are things I understand about my (your) weakness!

#1 It is something you run to when storms hit! A comfort zone. (Unhealthy companion, Pint of Ben & Jerry, Cigarette, etc.)

#2 In the “loving arms” of this weakness you feel safe,satisfied, & comforted (Even if its just temporarily)

#3 It brings pleasure to your life

#4 BUT at times makes you feel dirty & LOST

#5 You want to breakup & move on… But she just keeps coming back (Not referring  to a crazy ex!)

SOUND FAMILIAR? If you have identified your weakness let’s begin the process of untangling! It might hurt, you might cry, & you will most likely loose some hair! But the end result is so worth it! First things first.. things you need to understand before starting the restoration process!

#1 God has enough strength to conquer this weakness! 2 Corinthians 12:9

#2 God cannot help those who are not willing to help themselves! (And by “not willing,” I mean refusing to ask for help). Cry out for help! He is listening Psalms 34:17-20.

#3 God encourages Godly counsel! (This does not mean your girl/guy friends over coffee! They are fools!! Proverbs 19:20

#3 It WILL be embarrassing and awkward (asking for help)!  So just get over it! Ecclesiastes 4:13

#4 YOU CAN be & will be healed from this weakness. (Sin) Matthew 19:26

#5 We show our love through obedience! John 14:12-17 Obedience proves your love! NOT “GOOD WORKS!” He is pretty clear when he calls them nothing but dirty rags!Isaiah 64:6

A weakness is like a crazy Ex. they just keep fighting themselves back into our lives! They don’t understand NO is a NO. They can be manipulative and crafty! But don’t settle for the misconception that “God understands this!” because he doesn’t! When it comes to your happiness (comfort zone) & His (God’s) Holiness he couldn’t give a crap!
